JOB #1: Part-time Innkeeper/Guest Services Manager:
We need a part-time innkeeper to work for our beautiful 100 year old Victorian Inn with modern amenities and full breakfast located near Coolidge Corner in Brookline, MA. We are on the lookout for a fresh and energetic employee who is self-motivated, personable and has the street smarts to navigate the world of customer service.
Our Innkeepers do it all, we are concierges, handy(wo)men, cooks, secretaries, innovators, decorators, mediators, therapists, cartographers, and stand- up comedians. You will be required to: scramble eggs, make restaurant recommendations, handle picky and friendly guests indiscriminately, answer phones, book reservations, call taxis, and pull rabbits out of hats.
Our best candidates will be great multi-taskers so if fluffing pillows while dipping strawberries in chocolate, carrying a suitcase full of bricks and answering phones is your specialty you’ll be a perfect fit.
Hospitality experience is preferred and customer service required but we are more than willing to teach the right person. We are looking for a new member of our team, one that we can depend on to work hard and uphold our hallmark of exemplary service. From our Innkeepers, to our housekeepers, to our cooks, handymen and everyone in between we work together to give our guests a memorable, exceptional and comfortable stay in our city.
The nitty gritty: Applicants must be available for 7-9 days of training, 3-4 days in a row at a time. Sunday PM is critical shift from 2 pm to 10 p.m., but candidate may be able to pick up occasional weekday shift coverage and Holiday shifts. Bilingual Spanish a plus. Starting pay: $14 hourly. JOB #2: Weekend Cook :
We are seeking a weekend cook (7am-1pm Sat & Sun) to work for our Bed & Breakfast near Coolidge Corner. Primary duties include hot entree prep, bussing & washing dishes, and baking. Our weekend guests pay higher rates and they expect top-notch service and quality, delicious food. You will be working with innkeepers to serve breakfast to 20 to 50 guests in a buffet-style presentation for a 2-hour service. Paid weekday/weekend training; starting pay is $13/hr. Currently we are seeking a candidate available for these two regular weekend AM shifts but also has the flexibility and desire to pick up additional and potentially last minute shifts as needed. Holiday availability is also desirable.
The ideal candidate must have a passion for cooking, a commitment to customer service excellence, be detail oriented, be an efficient multi-tasker able to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize effectively. Candidates must have food service experience, especially baking, sautéing, following recipes, and doing prep work. Flexibility is a must. A sense of humor and Spanish fluency are desirable.
